To be or not to be....a Colt...
After some review and a VERY eventful day at the range...I am wanting to purchase a firearm that I shot and fell in love with. I put about 125 rnds through a Springfield 1911 A1 Loaded 45 Super a few days ago and LOVE this thing!!! My only question would be if there is any pros or conns with a Springfield 1911 compared to others. I know there are plenty of 1911 fans in here and NO, I do not plan on retiring my Glock, but just really interested in any input before I spend....no wait....INVEST these funds.

I love Colt 1911's and I have a few. I also have a couple of Less Baer Thunder Ranch Specials and two Springfield 1911's, a Loaded in .45 ACP and a customized .38 Super I plan to use in ESP.
While am a Colt fan (with their warts and all) and my TRS's are wonderful guns, I think the best bang for the buck is the Springfield Loaded 1911's. With a street price around $650, I don't think it can be matched.

I carry a SA 1911-A1. It is a reliable & very accurate gun.
You will not be disappointed.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

I've got a Les Baer Premier II which I purchased very lightly used, and am extremely happy with it.
Though I've got an older Colt National Match I'm also pleased with, I'd never buy another Colt product since I learned the hard way (with a Colt Govt. Model Jammamatic) that Colt does not honor their warranties.

I have a Colt 1911 and while its a beautiful gun and I got it brand new wor 600.00 they are pretty basic.
Colts are beautiful but they lack the features and customizations of other mfg. Look at the Springfield Loaded or even the New Taurus PT1911 that is making waves all over the net. The prices are going up on those too because of popularity.

To be or not to be a Colt.....UPDATED!!
Well...here she is gentlemen. I picked her up about 3 hours ago and feel like I'm a proud new father. A little heavier than my Glock, but does she ever shoot like a charm!

Nice looking gun. I love the Springfield Mil-spec. Mine was my introduction into the 1911 world and the one gun that I will NEVER sell or trade. It has been slightly customized. The only original parts left are the frame, slide, barrel, sights, and grip safety. It makes me look really good at the range. It also carries well. Personally I think it carries better than Glocks. Get a good holster and belt. Enjoy the gun.
