CLOSED: CZ 452 American RH 22.5" 22LR

Post by QB »

AD CLOSED - thanks
I just received these and have been struggling with length of pull and scope eye relief. These are no longer produced however a dealer placed a large "exclusive" order so I jumped on the chance to buy them as they are highly sought after. These are really good looking guns and balance nicely. I don't want to cut down the original stocks and I just can't find the right combination of rings (or extended rings) and/or scope that is longer or has longer eye relief. Some of the options that may work for me such as a different stock, etc are just getting too expensive.

So I'm going to abandon keeping the CZs (and will kick myself later) and will buy some kind of youth model, maybe even the CZ Scout but probably the Ruger American Compact since I already have a boatload of rotary magazines from my 10/22s and Chargers.

CZ 452's are absolutely great rifles. These will go like hotcakes on the Rimfire Central Forum......maybe. If I didn't already own 7 CZ 452's, I'd......well, you know.

Yeah, a lot of people on Rimfire Central forum already bought them (including me)......I hate to turn around and let them go but I just don't have much experience with rifles and didn't think about LOP and how it affects eye relief. I guess I really should keep one of them and go ahead and have the stock cut down.........would just have to find someone local who is COMPETENT to do so (I've been burned by one local gunsmith already so I'm a bit skeptical). I could also try some extended rings but that gets time consuming and expensive since I have to order them and see what might work........ :???:

A local sale would be best for someone since no shipping/FFL fee involved. I paid $369.99 + shipping + $15 FFL fee each so someone would save a little bit. Not sure the dealer has any more left but I think he does so if someone wants a NIB/first retail purchaser one and has to pay shipping anyway, go to Rimfire Central forum and they have several threads about these along with the dealer's name (or PM me and I'll give the info to you).

One on GB (NIB) just got a bid of $429 so I may very well put mine on auction next week or next month or next year......I'm in no hurry and may very well figure out my little LOP/Eye Relief issue.

Yes, these are very nice guns and very accurate. I absolutely love mine. I agree, you probably will regret selling them but whoever buys them sure won't regret doing so. If I had extra funds, I would be tempted.

If you want to get one cut down, take it to Andrew at ADM Gun and Rifle Makers in Southlake.

I had him fit my Browning O/U and it looks factory new. His credentials can't be beat.

THANKS SO MUCH for the name of a gunsmith that you know does good work. He sounds like a fabulous guy, what interesting work. I will give him a call today or Monday and see how much it will cost to size the CZ to me (if he does simple little American stocks  )
