Caylor Custom

Post by BrassMonkey »

I was wondering if anyone has personally had Mike Caylor build them a pistola? If nobody has, any second recommendations would be great. Any information at all would be as a matter of fact :-) Thanks!!!

I have not had him do a build for me, but I know people who have, and they were very satisfied. He has done action work on my SA 1911 and some other run of the mill gunsmithing...did good work, and it was reasonably priced. Plus, he is a really nice friendly and talkative guy.

I had him install a set of TRU-GLO nitesights on my XD. Well he scratched the finish where the sight slides in, And he cracked the sight witch went out within a month. When I contacted him about this he stated that since I did not buy the sights for him, he cant do anything about it. Not to mention it shot about 2"s off after that.

As for his 1911 work, it is great. Very nice pieces. I would love to do more business with him, but I'm afraid I cant. Maby it was a one time thing....
