I think you could find a prison employee and pay 1/3 of that price......trust me..I have one hanging in my closet.

They are heavy and good looking. The finish will wear to a dull look if you wear it daily. I doubt you could find much better quality with any of the leading companies like Montana Silversmith. The prison buckles have more detail.

If I am not mistaken those are all made at the prison. The man who started them has past away now. I have three. One with my Badge on it; one with my name on it; and one of Texas Rangers. I have not had any trouble with mine turning. I do not wear mine that much because I am usually in a suit. I like them. If you know someone at the a County Jail like a Captain or Chief Jailor they can help you a lot cheaper.

Thanks JBirds and carlson. The link I posted IS the opne made by inmates right? And JBirds, just so I am clear, you are saying the quality of the one made at the jail IS very high?

Anyone know anybody at a county jail that could get em cheaper for m? :-)

Thanks again guys...

I would say that it is very high......just don't be surprised if it begins to dull with daily wear. You will find more detail in prison made buckle sets than you would on those sold at the western wear store.

Gasp. You're allowed to keep prison employees hanging in your closet?
