The above link is to an article about a "sovereign citizen", aka "angry man with a chip on his shoulder + guns",
who had many arrests and LEO contacts.

At the time of the shootout he was using a Smith and Wesson 9MM semi-automatic pistol (probably an M & P) with
a 17 round magazine + 1, 2 more 17 rounders in his shoulder holster, and 4 more 17 rounders in his waistband, for a total
of 120 rounds.

Lots of ammo but in a gunfight with 7 LEO's, the BG did not prevail.

There's some interesting comments about sovereign citizens being high on the watch list for LEO's expecting trouble.

Another nut job. He was spoiling for a gunfight and found it. Good article SIA! Thanks for posting.

As far as how the article describes/defines 'soverign citizen', it sounds as though it also describes some group(s) that have recently been making an ass out of themselves here in Texas.

Wouldn't a so-called "Soverign Citizen" be equated to an anarchist?

If so, they figure they don't have to obey laws, pay taxes, etc. and are generally prone to violence.

Do I have that right?

This was obviously a a Bad Guy, but this line late in the article "... and his pickup was seized for civil forfeiture" would just about do it for me. Civil forfeiture is one of the greatest unconstitutional abuses our governments inflicts on it's citizens. It is blatant confiscation of personal property without due process. :mad5

Sounds to me like this guy needed killing and it was just a matter of time before he killed someone else.

obviously this guy's line in the sand was a lot further up the beach than most.... the rest of my comment doesn't necessarily have to do with this case, but with the way this country is heading is it so crazy to ask where most "normal" people would say that's enough???? we have the most dangerous "president", I argue dictator in the white house than we've ever had in history. we have a congress that will do nothing to stop him or he would already be in jail period...the govt has just taken the first steps into controlling the internet (and they already own every other media type). if we all don't see the cliff that's coming up it's going to be very bad very soon. I also understand that as a whole LE is a good thing and most are good cops that believe in our rights more than we do. However there is a cancer in LE with corrupt cops, judges, DA's etc. many argue the justice system itself is broken but nobody wants to fix it. cancer if not cured will spread. i've always been a history buff and we are heading down the same road traveled many times throughout history and it's not a smooth ride.....

:iagree: I cannot believe our Congress has not taken steps to stop this president.
What does he have to do, before Americans say "Enough!"?

I agree, but a fish rots from the head. Corruption starts at the top not at the bottom. There are corrupt cops because there are corrupt politicians, prosecutors, and chiefs.

While we can blame Congress for not stopping this President, the reality is that prior Presidents have been stopped when members of their own party and the mainstream media have said no to the President. But with Obama, the Democrats and the mainstream media are marching in lock step with him. Until they break with him, Obama can not be stopped. We need to start blaming the right people, the media and the Democrats!
