Indiana and the Duke both got their nicknames from the family dog.

I've gone back to the drawing board. After looking at many websites (my wife keeps asking, "still shopping for your purse?") I am building my EDC from the ground up in a tier fashion.

I was very close to getting a Maxpedition Neat Freak for my Tier 2 carry stuff (tier 1 is in my pockets) until I found this guy:

http://www.vanquest.com/products/edcm-s ... nizer.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Perfect to move from a briefcase to a backpack, or just carry alone when I don't need the larger volume. I chose the slim so it would fit in my briefcase better. It's not everything I want to carry, but gives me something that is easy to move from bag to bag and cover all of the tiny items I plan on. Plus at $23 instead of $88, it's a bargain.

So my system is coming out to:

T1 - on my person (keys, wallet, small knife, firearm)

T2 - pocket organizer (Vanquest Maximizer) Since it's inside a bag, I don't care that it's somewhat tactical, but this one isn't too tactical on the outside. My firearm is a Sig P938, so spare magazine(s) will fit nicely in this bag.

T3 - Briefcase (weekday) or sling backpack (weekend) - Since it's the weekender, the back pack can be more tactical and opens up my options. I can carry an additional firearm in this bag when needed. I'm still on the hunt for the sling backpack. That may be my father's day gift this year.

T4 - High Sierra Elite backpack. I have this now. Great bag, just a little bigger than I want for EDC around town. Works great for travel or when I want to carry my camera or other extra gear. This bag is so big it doesn't have a good place for an additional firearm if I expect a quick draw. I may have to figure something out on that.

My T3 and T4 will have some duplication for what stays in those bags full time like a bit larger flashlight than will not fit in T2, but I can deal with that. Given the differences between my work requirements and my weekend lifestyle, this is the best solution I can come up with.

The mankini I normally wear is orange and green zebra stripe... oh wait. Wrong forum. That's my other 'lifestyle'.... :lol::

I have made no secret that I favor bag carry despite sometimes getting criticism for that. Ideally I would prefer to carry OWB/IWB but guys I am a big dude and I dress really casual. Usually Im wearing some light jogging pants, sneakers, and a t-shirt. No way my pants will hold a gun when dressed like this.

I have a few bags I carry. I like the 5.11 2 banger bag. My .380 fits in a back pocket and in the main compartment is my PPS or Shield in its holster. Waller, phone, keys, a pen, knife, small flashlight etc all fit in it. I have a Tumi sling bag that works great, and various others. I have large backpacks designed for CCW to really small bags that are good for quick trips. I hate stuff in my pockets and in my casual attire it doesnt work.

I havent heard of this new bag maker so cant help there. Vertx does make a great product but I am waiting for the new line of bags as I think most are too big for extended carry. I have the Gamut and all I use it for is my bug out bag now. The smaller more portable bags has been working out better for me since they are not as obtrusive as carrying my big backpack loaded with gear.

I used to carry the more tactical looking bags but strayed away from that and run now with a more nondescript looking bag. They have to be easy to access my firearm and the reason I go with small bags is because whn I do bag carry I have to be able to have under my control at all times. My Vertx Gamut for example would have to sit on the floor if I went into a restaraunt and shopping at some places dont allow large bags. I was in a bookstore once and was told I had to leave my bag at the counter. Hmmm let me think about that a minute..NO. (If I am ever asked to leave my bag at a counter I say I have medication that I have to have on me and if that doesnt fly I will leave or lock it up in my vehicle)

I have more edc bags than my wife has purses. I fact she reminds me of often. :)

Have one. Its a good bag but the one I have is tan so it doesnt have that tactical look. I just got in a Kelty Tactical Sling. Its a small sling bag that despite its name doesnt look tactical at all. And its awesome. Its small enough it can go anywhere and doesnt draw attention like one of my larger bags might. I slip my wallet, pen, mini Streamlight, Chapstick, apirin, small knife, and either my small 380 or my PPS in the CCW area. The CCW are is fully covered in velcro. Amazing little bag.

I wear a lot of casual workout clothes which I cant wear a gun owb/iwb and this is a great solution. Love it.
