I haven't carried in a bar, but wouldn't have any concerns doing so if it was legal. I have carried while sitting at a bar in a restaurant. I was not drinking, but was rather waiting for my order to take it home. Some places, this is where take out orders are made and where you will more than likely wait for your order. The first time I did this it was a tiny bit odd, but not uncomfortable.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Confidence really is the key. I deal with this constantly in my role as air traffic controller and flight instructor.

Usually the world of air traffic is new and strange to most newbies and the hardest thing to teach them is to have confidence in the authority they have been given by the FAA to control their airspace. There are a tremendous amount or rules and regulations that they must all become expert at in a relatively short time. This is daunting to most and is what separates those who can from those who can't. The key is confidence in what you know.

And expertise is the key to confidence. You should be an expert on the rules of CHL carry; every single word. Read them over and over again for familiarity then again and again for expert understanding. That will give you the confidence you need to carry everywhere you are legally able without worries. You should also, as a matter of interest, keep abreast of CHL issues, case law, etc. to further your knowledge.

I do not worry about where or how or when I carry because I have made myself as expert as possible on those rules and my authority.

And yes, I would sit at a bar at The Texas Roadhouse, go into Harley's for wine...anywhere I am legal and have not been given proper notice. (PROPER is the key word here).

I won't drink at the bar because of the intoxication rule but I would eat the wings and drink my soda.

Familiarity=expertise=confidence=worry-free carry
