Corp of Engineers property lines

I know concealed carry is not allowed on COE property. My question is how are COE property lines established? A friend of mine was asking about this the other day and I did not have an answer. He was asking about the Lampasas river above Stillhouse Hollow reservoir. I cannot find any info stating how far up the river COE would have jurisdiction. There are several access points to the river by road that are also accessible by boats coming up from Stillhouse. Anyone know the laws on this. Some lakes property lines are defined by a certain water level(Canyon lake for example)but no info on Stillhouse or Belton. Figured someone on here might have the info.

At the upper (upstream) end of Lampasas looks like the USACE fee line is about .5 mile east of FM2484. Canyon lake has the same boundaries as other fee owned property and it is not an arbitrary water level or elevation contour. You are confusing the fee owned Federal lands and the Government purchased right (easement) to flood certain tracts of land and to restrict building there. While the fee owned will always be straight lines marked by boundary markers, the flood easement is typically considered as a specific contour elevation, some easements were purchased that extend farther up the elevation and may include the entire tract of land by metes and bounds.

Good question. My wife and I want to go camping this summer at Colorado Bend State Park, and while I know that CHL in state parks is fine, I don't know how much the COE has to do with the river where it flows through the park, and would I be in violation if, for instance, I were fishing from the shore in the river while carrying my pistol.

USACE has no fee interest in Colorado Bend SP. It is all TPWD. The only Corps activity would be proposed projects and permits needed as part of the Clean Water Act, but there would still be no Corps ownership of any land. Probably TMI... Have fun and be safe!
