XD9 SC Bitone 9mm

Post by Larsin »

Well...I finally found the XD9SC in Bitone at the Bullet Trap in Plano(they had 1 only and weren't sure when they'd get more in). Since I received numerous gift cards for my recent birthday, I figured what better way(in-between paydays) to put them to use as a layaway down payment .

Fortunately I will have it paid for in the next check or two as I continue to patiently(ok...maybe not) wait for my plastic to arrive.

Hopefully I can also order my Super Tuck Deluxe, an in-car gun safe, a Pelican 1400 case and get lots of range time in the next 2 months before my wife has our first child.

This is as bad(worse?)as the golf addiction...

Congrats on the impending birth of your child and on your new pistol.

I have one (the XD SC not the child) and like it quite a bit. It's a great pistol and quite accurate for it's size. The one thing that I can suggest is that if it doesn't have night sights and you want them, have BT order one with them already installed. It's difficult to find anyone local to install them and the shipping and down time to send it off just add to the difficulty. Enjoy it.

ScubaSigGuy,

Thanks much for the response, I didn't think about that! I was considering TFO's or Suresights and wasn't aware of the difficulties locally. I will give BT a call and see what they can do.

Larsin you will enjoy that gun very much. I have it myself and it has been problem free. You might want to pickup a Pierce grip extension for the 10 round magazine. It made a big improvment in my accuracy without adding the length of the 15 rnd. mag. As for the night sights The Marshall swears by the TFO's he put on his. I have yet to add them to mine. Congrats on the SC and the pending birth of your baby.

Bullet Trap does Layaway?!!!!!!

Is that correct??? Wow, am I gonna get in trouble!! What's their layaway terms?

Ona side note, Canyon Creek Custom installed the [abbreviated profanity deleted] on my previous XD and did a flawless job. Should you not be able to get one with them already installed, I highly recommend them. They can be found with a quick search for "Canyon Creek Custom" on yahoo search.

bigolbigun - Thanks, I definitely will add the PG extension! I was kinda wanting the TFOs, but the guy at BT said they recommend the Trijicon for durability(We all know how THAT is open for debate though).

age_ranger - Yep, they have 120 day layaway with 20% down. It was actually my first time into the store(I live about 50 minutes away from there).

I have heard great things about Canyon Creek, so hopefully I can do some business with them sooner than later.

The bitone was just so hard to find lately, so I jumped on it. So much stuff to get.....so little time...

Well, there goes my cool points at home......I imagien they don't do that with consignment guns though. GunMaster down the road does layaway on consignment guns. If I'm down there and something I really want is there I'll put it on layaway and pick it up when I can get the time to get to the bank to get the cash. I hate using credit cards if I don't have to. After having my CC# stolen about 3 times last year, I'm a cash paying customer!!

I did my CHL qualification at BT... very nice guys, very knowledgeable guys. The firearms are pricey in my opinion, but it's possible they'd be open to negotiation... I've never tried to buy.

As to the XD9SC, it's one of my favorite shooters period! I'm eager to check out the Px4 Storm Subcompact though.

I have TFO's on my XD9 Service and love them. I have heard of TFO's occasionally breaking and TroGlu replacing them for free.

I have a Canyon Creek trigger job on my XD and it's right at 3.5lbs. It feels totally different than the stock trigger (read WAY BETTER). I let Charles shoot it and he just looked at me with a huge smile. This is one mod that's definitely worth the money!
