CHL and jury duty
Anyone ever have any problem with having your firearm in your car in the "official" jury duty parking garage? I'm pretty sure it will cause a hubbub if I take it in with me but not sure about in the car even though it would be in the console so nobody would know it's there.
Forgot to mention this is in the main Harris County court system in downtown Houston.

Firearms are not allowed in court buildings - http://www.hcfpm.net/security" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - but I believe the parking lot law passed in the previous session allows you to keep the weapon in your car. (46.035 (f)(3))
Firearms are prohibited on the premises of courts under 46.03(3)."(3) "Premises" means a building or a portion of a building. The term does not include any public or private driveway, street, sidewalk or walkway, Previous Hitparking lotNext Hit, parking garage, or other parking area.

It's legal to leave it in your vehicle. You will not be able to carry it into the court area because of metal detectors as well as already stated it is a violation of Penal Code 46.03.

Yeah, I knew I couldn't take it in. I just wanted to be sure there wasn't something I didn't know about affecting leaving it in the car in their garage. I thought that was fine but wanted some confirmation just for good measure.

Just don't forget to leave your pocket knife in the car too... (Second or third day of jury duty last time, I was going through security, emptying my pockets, oops...) I told them I'd left something in the car, ran up 7 flights of stairs to drop it off...
And, park in the county parking garage, then go to the basement and go through security there, then take the tunnel to the jury assembly building. Much quicker than taking the surface route and going through security at the jury assembly building.

Yeah, I've got 3 knives to remember to leave at home and one in the car. I wish they had satellite courts to also go to that would be nearer home and less traffic. At least it's (hopefully) only one day.

Re: CHL and jury duty
Last time I had to report for jury duty was Midland several years ago. Had to take off my shoes and belt too.
I was pretty irritated at the time.
I just got the letter for here in Lubbock, we'l see if I get picked. I kind of want to, I have never done it before. My luck I'd end up with a 6 month trial or something.

If you don't want to serve just ask about jury nullification.
