Thanks everyone for the welcome.

I considered walking away but I was not going to turn my back on the guy and he was blocking the path to the store so I would have had walk past him to get to the store. Also didn't want to leave my truck in the parking lot for him to jack with.

I seriously doubt he was really going to try to fight me since I had a few inches and probably 80 pounds on him but who knows. I was more worried about a gun or a knife.

My nephew was curious about why I didn't 'stand up' to him and we had a pretty good talk about what happened and why I reacted the way I did. I'm still fairly young(27) but really have no desire to to fight anyone unless I have to.

Also went to the range today to get some practice in and purchased a North American arms 22 mag revolver to pocket carry.

Did you ever figure out what you may have done to raise his ire?

No sir, I have no idea. Said I cut him off at the exit, but I don't remember seeing his car.

Be the healer, try to solve the other guy's emotional kidney stones. Be, in appearance, the most egalitarian, self-effacing participant in the conversation. Practice at the range to be the most decisively defensive. Speak softly, carry a loud, hidden stick. Pray never to use it.

That's what I try to do.

I'd much rather talk my way out than shoot my way out.

You avoided a physical confrontation, got to teach your nephew about being a man by taking the high road and are telling a positive ending to a potiantially bad outcome.

Sounds like you did exactly the right thing. :thumbs2:

Random people you meet out in public have great likely hood of being on legal or illegal drugs or just plain meaner and tougher and faster that I am. I'm backing up and moving out if possible but if that don't work then it will be a bad day for both of us no doubt.
You may have the last word.
