Now that the OP's question has been answered, and the OP has responded in kind, this topic has brought up an interesting question...

Could we use an AR pistol with a wrist brace for qualification? No, I'm not saying that I would - I don't even own one (yet), but I'm curious if it would be acceptable to do so?

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

That IS an interesting question. I believe the handgun has to be .32 caliber or greater, so that would rule out a standard .223 AR pistol. But I would think as long is it met the .32 caliber or greater, it should work, but the folks next to you probably won't be very happy.

Looking forward to responses on the brace.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the law changing the minimum caliber from .32 to .22 passed, so on those grounds it wouldn't be.

If it did pass, it wouldn't be until it is effective.

From my research of checking on suppressors, the .32 or greater keeps me from using my 5.7 so that should prevent the use of an AR pistol, too... unless... .50 beowulf pistol, anyone???

well my .45 cal suppressor adds about 7.5 inches to the length of any gun its attached too. you not going to carry it concealed or holstered period. if you cant pass the test without a suppressor you need to practice more.
