I went and picked up my new Taurus 605 yesterday. Out of the box the cylinder was tight and it was hard to pull the trigger. The gunstore owner told me to shoot some rounds out of it and see if that loosened it up. You have to put the cylinder back in and move it around to seat right to get it to function. I put about 50 rounds through it and it still will not function right. I took it back to him this morning and he said he would have to send it to Taurus to be repaired. He said it would take about 2 weeks to get done. Has anyone had any experiences like this and how long did it take to get it back?
I had to send my Taurus PT-145 in once due to a broken firing pin return spring. It took a few days short of what they claim on their website. It's been a while so I can't remember exactly.
Tauraus has a good turnaround time.
My son in law sent one back several yrs ago & told them it was his only PD hand gun & they really rushed it. He had it back in his hand in about 10 days.
Learn from this experience. If there is any perceived problem w/ a gun at the dealer, they will help most of the time. But when the gun leaves the door & is fired your delaing w/ the maker & not the dealer most of the time.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

He's the one that found the problem as he was checking it out when he unpacked it from the shipping box. When he told me it just might need to be fired to loosen up. He said to bring it back if it didn't and me and my wife both thought he said he would order a new one. This morning when I took it back he said he would have to send it back for repairs. If he wouldn't have said he would replace it I would have refused it. But now I know better.
I won't have to find out how long it takes to send back. He had his gunsmith do some polishing on the cylinder and the arm that the ejection rod fits through. It works as smooth as butter now. Gonna take it out after super and see how it does.
