Lake Livingston Family Reunion - carry questions.

Post by Charlies.Contingency »

My family is planning a reunion at Livongston State Park. I did have a few questions that some of ya'll might be able to help with.

I know lake livingston carry had been brought up a few years ago, and my CHL has me covered still, correct?

Secondly, I have a toddler, and we will have multiple small children. I plan on having my .45 on person, as well as a secured full size .40 in each truck of mine. I don't care much for gators, just gator tail. ;-) Anybody current on legalities of having my 12g in the truck?

Thirdly, I'll be toting along several kayaks. Legalities of kayak carry? Last thing I want, is for a family member or I to be turned over by "Charlie." Any suggestions on this?

Fourth, we're going to be looking for some cabins or something this year. We expect 30 people +/- with about 15 kids. Any suggestions on this one guys?

As always, thank you for your input guys!

Is Livingston under ACoE jurisdiction? If so you cannot carry on the lake

According to the Texas State Historical Association:

"Lake Livingston is a reservoir located in the East Texas Piney Woods. Lake Livingston was built, and is owned and operated, by the Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA) under contract with the City of Houston for water-supply purposes."

My State Rep Hubert won't tell me his position on HB560. How about yours?

For lakes, Check TX tpwd for controlling authority
https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/re ... ivingston/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Reservoir Controlling Authority
Trinity River Authority
PO Box 360
Livingston, Texas 77351
(936) 365-2292

You can carry there (If it said Army Corps engineers. you can't carry IN the lake)

http://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/lake-livingston" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
GENERALLY you CAN carry in Texas State Parks.. Livingston State park is fine, on Lake is fine too

IIRC, (State Parks on ACOE waters, should allow carrying in the STATE Park, but not in/on the ACOE water/= nor a ACOE park on the same lake )

Thanks for the info. Before hand, I checked with Texas Parks & Wildlife, and all seemed clear. I couldn't imagine going out on lake Livingston without the ability to defend yourself in case you wind up toe to mouth with a gator. I don't want to hear banjo music, lol.

Thinking of that, anybody know where I can get some "I hear Banjo Music, Paddle Faster" shirts around S.A.?
