Gun belts

The Beltman makes a great quality belt and can customize it for your needs. I couldn't be happier with mine.

I am very pleased with my bullhide belt from the Beltman. I got the 7 hole version in 38". When wearing IWB I use the 38.75" hole, for OWB the 37.25" hole, and the 36.5" hole for no holster. It is plenty stiff for me and they say that the horsehide belt is even stiffer.

+2 on the beltman belts. I ordered a 1 1/2 black bullhide just plain as plain can be and it supports my gov't 1911 and double mag pouch without a problem, sag or uncomfortable spot.

I too am looking for a good gun-belt. Isn't there a good leather-store or something similar in the Houston area that would sell an perfectly-good equivalent (or even the real thing)?

Is it absolutely necessary to go online or visit a gun-show just to get one?

I will second that vote for the belt man, there is a 3-4 week wait but the owner will call you to make sure you have measured correctly for it. There are good directions on the site but I liked this touch. The belt buckle I ordered was also out of stock so he gave me a more expensive one at no extra cost! +2 for service!

Whenever possible I like supporting local businesses, but I never found what I wanted at a store or a gun show. Eventually I ending up buying a bullhide belt from Beltman.net. I highly recommend them. I know there are other manufacturers that people are happy with, but I never saw those brands in stores or at the gun shows.

I didn't want to compromise on quality or fit, so I ended up buying from the beltman. The wait wasn't long and I got exactly the belt that I wanted. I don't regret the purchase at all. They might cost more, but if you buy a cheaper belt that doesn't meet your needs and you are not satisfied you are wasting your money.

The wait is not that long...about three weeks. I have not found a good quality belt maker (locally)...therefore, the Beltman is my choice...

I have had a belt made by MAIDEA's on westhiemer and chimmney rock and it is good and stiff,it supports my 1911 ands all the assorted crud i carry on me and i am a LARGE GUY [yall know "FLUFFY"]and most belts that big are real expensive but it was under a 100bucks.

Don't forget the Wilderness Tactical Instructor belts. I wear the 5-stitch with the standard steel buckle, and it's fine for carrying an all-steel 1911. If it handles that weight without trouble, it should handle just nearly anything, though if you carry a 10" Super Redhawk or something like that, you might want the reinforced model.

The only problem I've had so far was the velcro wanting to come loose on the tail. A few minutes with a needle and thread put it back, and I understand they've improved their stitching a bit since mine was made. I've had this one for a couple years now, and worn it every day, so the velcro is getting close to needing replacement, but the rest of the belt is still in great shape.

I also recommend the Wilderness Instructor belt when you want a more casual look than a leather belt. I wear one with 5.11 BDUs and cargo shorts.
