Its just that there's no way for an officer to find out unless someone rats you out. So, technically, if you have a CHL, you cannot go to your friends house, and compare guns.

i am looking for an IWB tuckable strong side, 3 to 5 o'clock holster
You might look at a DeSantis Tuck This II M24BAER1Z0 padded nylon holster w/integral mag pouch and adjustable cant. Reasonable price and well constructed. A mite thick, but works with my PT140MilPro.

You might also try Kholster Crescent for PT MilPro or get a kit from Old Faithful, look at clipless Remora 4ART, all reasonably priced, and there are many others to choose from fair to ridiculous pricing. All their web sites will give you gun selection/size charts for the various manufacturers models/series of pistols or revolvers. There should be no need to take your pistol in for fitting to a holster unless you're just looking for some generic non-fitted or have some off the wall brand. Bass or Cabelas is about the last places I'd buy a holster.

Good luck on your holster quest. Finding the "perfect" holster is fun - as long as the money holds out. BTW, I own holsters from all those I mentioned or linked with no buyers remorse - for my PT140.
