very wel said anygun, my thoughts are to quote a truly evil woman in hillary clinton " at this point what does it matter?" Since obummer has his pen and a phone and really has no regard for executive orders or our constitution, he'll keep bypassing everybody just like he has since he stole office the first time. The only way things get turned around is if he is impeached and put on trial for high treason. The list of offenses are there and it's a growing list.....we the sheeple need to send the message that when you crud all over our founding documents you get dealt with. otherwise when the next puppet gets "elected" we'll be dealing with the same stuff and it will only get worse.....

"Our houses are protected by the Good Lord and a gun, you might em both if you show up here not welcome son" Josh Thompson- Way out here (best song ever) "eventually all citizens will become criminals with enough legislation....."

Indeed. I have almost zero in common with "cultural conservatives" finding them little different than democrats in wanting to tell me what to do.Hindenburg wrote:Not all Republicans are created equal. Some are fiscal and social conservative. Others would have been called "Reds" or "Pinkos" in another era. That's true nationally and locally. Even in Texas, a big chunk of the 2/3 majority are neither pro-gun nor anti-handouts.anygunanywhere wrote:We are going to have two years of the same garbage. We do not need compromise or common ground as they define it. The only common ground needed in DC is THE CONSTITUTION. Government cannot create jobs. Obamacare could have been stopped by not funding it since all revenue originates in the house where that have had a majority for 2 years.
They weren't elected to obstruct. The US has gone through structural economic convulsions. The people want better jobs, not just a better economy. If the new Republican majority doesn't act on that, they'll get thrown right back out.

I agree, and I'll note for the record I have never voted for a (D) for any office or judgeship in my life. I've been a consistent (R) my entire life, checking the (R) box last Tuesday at the polls.Charles L. Cotton wrote:The election was a very big deal. ..
However, I'll also note for the record my growing disenchantment with the current "establishment republicans" who drink the darn Koolaid inside the beltway that surrounds the state or national Capitol, turning them from red republicans into purple "democrat-light" politicians that betray their base and the principles of conservatism.
Poster children: Boehner, McConnell, and Strauss.
If they end up opposing the Progressive attack on our way of life, I am convinced that they would do so only because their political calculus concluded they could amass more power with that strategy versus adopting a "let's be cooperative lapdogs" strategy (look what they did to Cruz a year ago!). Their strategy is entirely based on their perception of self interest, and not driven by any sense of principles.
