Democrats - Are we going to loose our 2A rights now?

First I would like to thank the members of this forum for sticking to topic and not let this thread get out of hand.
I will be closely watching the events that will be coming out of Washington, and making my list for my evil weapon(s). I hope our support of the NRA and other agencies helps keep this under control.
Thank you for your replies.

From the Brady Bunch web site:
I do expect a new version of an AWB to be voted upon this next legislative session. I also expect to see the phrase "Closing the gun show loophole" to become an even larger catch phrase. This will most likely mean an attempt at legislation requiring a national gun registry, a national waiting period on firearm purchases, and making it a requirement that all firearm transactions go through an FFL.
Will any of this legislation pass? I do not think so, but, I am sure it will be attempted.
Look at who the Dem's are advancing for committee chairmanships, these are all far left hard line Lib's. The freshman moderates will be whipped into submission in quick order.Candidates supporting a common sense approach to gun violence prevention did very well. In races where the Brady Campaign endorsed candidates went head-to-head with competing candidates endorsed by the NRA, Brady won 5 of 5 Governorships (Patrick in MA, O’Malley in MD, Rendell in PA, Doyle in WI, and Blagojevich in IL) and 4 of 4 U.S. Senate seats (Cardin in MD, Cantwell in WA, Stabenow in MI, and Nelson in FL). Candidates endorsed by the Brady Campaign won over 95% of their races.

If a moderator person would be so nice to make this a "sticky"...Diode wrote:While you guys are making me laugh out loud here at work, it is a very sad but true analisys. Don't forget to return to this thread and see your predictions come true. BTW is my Yugo SKS considered an assualt rifle?
I bet a lot of what is said here will happen in some way, shape or form...

As much as I'd like to, I am not counting at all on that VETO pen...John wrote:jrosto... 100% correct and the problem we face is that such items are considered and communicated as "common sense approach" instead of infringements to the second amendment. Hopefully they will not get far and if they do, the veto pen will be handy (I hope).
As unfortunate as this is...I am betting on a fact that this administrations legacy, that they are not going to be remembered for losing big on a mid-term election on the last term of an administration, then start VETO-ing everything that rubs "us" wrong...
The opposition would eat that up like BBQ'd puppies...
(ohhh, thats a good one! Need to write that one down!)

Rock River Arms is pretty hard to beat on their accuracy, price, and warranty in my opinion. I could only talk my wife into letting me buy one....it was a Rock River and I have no regrets. Wonderful rifle. If you would ever like to shoot mine or have your husband shoot it....come on down and you are more than welcome.

AS FOR ME
I think the Democrats will be forced by their supporters to attempt to pass at least one major restriction on our rights. These people have been out of power and have built-up fear and rage against everything conservative. The Democrat leadership will try to avoid it. But, will have to cave and try to get something passed in order to keep their radical base from rebelling. They won't have a choice. The Democrats are controlled by the far left and cannot neglect a major attempt to destroy something as American as the Second Amendment. And no new elected outsider that claims to be a Pro-gun Democrat is going to change that. We will see.

Of course the brady bunch sees the elections results as an overwhelming victory "Winning head to head races with NRA backed . . . "
This means we can count on see renewed lobbying for "common sense gun violence laws" (which are neither common, nor do they makes sense) in the next congressional session, and they will use "overwhelming support of the electorate" as an anchor.

They always work better in well-trained pairs...
