Would you "open carry"?

Post by Stringer »

IF you could carry openly in Texas, would you? Do you think that's safer than carrying concealed?

I'm thinking I would, However I would have to see the reactions of the Sheeple. In one hand I would think the sheeple would get more comfortable seeing guns around on people without uniforms. In the other hand it may escalate anti's to push bad legislation to hurt the cause.

The old out of sight out of mind theory, what they can't see can't hurt them and they won't be as concerned about the topic.

I guess i'm saying I would have to test it if it ever happened. :???:

As much as it would make it easier and more comfortable I just think that the BG s would look to shoot every person with a visable gun if they felt they had nothing to lose.

I would not open carry. No need to make myself a target for BGs.

I do however think that we should have that option in Texas.

I read that as safer for the political cause (reading alot tonight).

As for the BG aspect, I would say concealed is the only way.

A gun is a good defense, but surprise and a gun is the best defense. :fire

Nope, not as a practical matter. Like the others, to me open carry says "shoot me first,' or "mug me for my gun." Might do it once in awhile as a political statement, like at a rally or on a TSRA/NRA/Whoever-sponsored 2nd Amendment/Open Carry Day -- but even then I would have a concealed backup.

I absolutely, unequivocally, without a doubt, most assuredly would carry openly.
There is no proof one way or the other whether it's safer or not.

I would continue to carry concealed, but I would open carry on occasions for the purpose of exercising my RIGHT (after I'm ALLOWED to)! The BUG would be carried as well.

I am saving my pennies now for a fancy open carry rig.

Of course most of you already knew that!

I would personally prefer to carry however is the most comfortable depending on conditions, without fear of the accidental exposure! Some weapons and holsters just "feel good" IWB, or SOB (with a tee shirt) and no cover, while some feel or look good OWB, cover or not. I would like the option without some idiotic fear of reprisal for exposure.
It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

I wouldn't want to open carry, as I don't think it's a wise decision for me personally.
I would like to see us have the option to choose in this state.
