New here but Surgery soon

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

New here but Surgery soon

Post by SigSauerFan84 »

well im fairly new here but I am having surgery on the 4th of december. Im in the Air Force and back in January stepped off a stair ladder onto a crack in the runway. Rolled my ankle shattering the bone hyper extended some ligiments and tendons. Well when all was said and done I spent 4 mths in casts while they tried to fix me. Currently they are looking at medicly discharging me because I cant run with a 40lb ruck or gear anymore, my Dr suggested one more surgery that could possibly fix it so i am having that done on the 4th. your thoughts and prayers would be apperciated

Good luck with the surgery. As someone that'll need knee surgery one day, these are usually pretty successful, but I can completely understand the fear that goes with having surgery performed.

Thoughts are with you. Keep us updated.

Jeremy,

Best of luck with you r procedure. You may want to look into appealling your initial board results (MMRB, I think) to shooot for a 30% rating, which will mean the difference between a discharge and a retirement. If you retire, you will retain eligibility for Tricare. Decent medical insurance is a big deal nowadays, and an injury of that type will only get worse with the wear and tear of age (believe me on this one!).

Jeremy - we will be praying for your complete recovery here, too.

I grew up in Abilene, now live in DFW area. Is Abilene your home or are you just stationed at Dyess?

I have problems with both ankles and the associated hearing loss of working around jet engines for 6 years. I was talking to a VA doc the other day and he said it would stack to about 35-40% between everything I have wrong wtih me.

And to watson, I am stationed here i am from Collinsville IL, which is right near Scott AFB

Jeremy and all the rest of you in uniformed service, dedicated to serve and protect ... you're my hero! Thanks for all you do for us. You don't get paid enough, respected enough, loved enough, or praised enough. However, I hope you will accept my appreciation and that will be a good start.

My husband and I pray for all of you daily. Jeremy, you will be in our prayers even more. Please, let us know how your surgery comes out. We'll put you on all of our prayer lists.

Blessings!!

G-ma

Prayer sent. Update us as soon as you're feeling up to it after the surgery.
