25-January-2008

Post by zx9rt1 »

Hello all. Sent in my first renewal 25-January-2008. So here I am. The waiting begins. Will keep you posted on the events/status until my license is in hand. The only bad thing is, I let it lapse for over 7 months! More on that later.

"As of today we have not received it, however it does take 3-4 weeks to get entered into the system". This was the response after the email I sent them this morning. Fast response to the email. I was impressed. 3-4 weeks just to get entered into the system? Looks like it will probably be another 60 days? Until next week..........

"Packet mailed to applicant" This seems to be the standard message on the DPS web site. I mailed my packet via regular USPS mail. So this will be interesting to watch! Until next.

We entered your application on 02/19/08; at this time it is going through the normal processing. It can take up to 60 days to process

This is the email I got from them today. Also checked the status online and now shows processing application. I feel better knowing that they did get the completed application. Kinda started sweating a little due to me mailing via regular mail. So now I can chill for up to another 60 days. :eek6

Your application has not been entered into the system. It is going
though the processes required before entry. When a completed
application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your
PIN number.

That was the response I received today via e-mail. Oh well, maybe it will help a little. I wonder if yours being a renewal makes any difference? Do they have a separate stack for renewals and one for new applicant's?

nedmoore. Hang in there. I dont know if they have a diffrent process over new apps compared to a renewal. The first time I applied for mine it took what seemed like forever! If memory serves correct, it was over 90 days. My finger print card was sent back because my LEO forgot to sign off on the cards. So the process started all over again. And the reason it took me so long to renew was due to my wife hesitating on going to get hers renewed. She paid up for the renewal and made every excuse possible known to man about haveing a time issue with the 4hr class. Guess what she gets to do know? Spend 10hrs to go through the class instead of the 4. The reason being is that she has gone over the 1yr period for taken her renewal class. Makes no sense to me. I tried to push the matter for over 4 months until I just went ahead with mine. I'm currently plotting on a way to get her to take care of the matter. However, I'm unable to come up with a salution as of yet. Anyway, thats my story. Best advice I can give to you is be patient. If you are like me, you may fall a little short in that department!
