The new Kahr Auto Ordnance Thompsons (semi auto) are readily available.
They sell for about $1050-$1100 at shows.
The lightweight models can be had online for $850 or so.
When comparing, check out the mags. 50rd drums are around $300 and 100rd twice that.

Re: tommy gun
Same here, I thought a Thompson was for sale or there was interesting commentary on one, so I clicked. I don't have one, but I used one in the Navy.

Re: tommy gun
I loved it. Hardly any recoil, even on full auto, and more accurate than a .45 pistol. I qualified expert with it, and used to love to make bets with guys about shooting it. I was doing a qualification once, I was the qualifier at that point, and a young reserve officer was being quite boisterous about how badly the Thompson kicked, "impossible to hold in full auto fire" etc.lunchbox wrote:when you use it in the navy what did you think of itjimlongley wrote:Same here, I thought a Thompson was for sale or there was interesting commentary on one, so I clicked. I told the young butterbars that I would wager that I could hold the gun on target through a full magazine (only 20 rounds) and he took the bet. We were shooting at 25 pund coffee cans thrown over the side while the ship made tight turns. At somewhere between 20 and 30 yards I proceeded to pump an entire magazine through the coffee can in a single full auto burst, at least as far as anyone could determine, and he had to stew about it.
Of course a 25 pound coffee tin is about the size of a human torso, so I expected to hit it easily, but a lot of practice helped. In my armory I had three M1A1 Thompsons, and in one of those interesting twists of fate, an M1928A1 that had been with the ship since it was commissioned. It was the M1928A1 that I used, and being the ship's armorer, I got5 to choose who got issued which gun.

"The deal" is that at the time you wrote this, it's only 1 hour and 3 minutes after your initial post. This is a message board, not real-time chat. People come and go at all hours of the day, and darn few of them are going to own a Thompson, much less one they want to trade away.lunchbox wrote:so there have been a few views and nobody is talking whats the deal
