Pawnshops no longer selling handguns
So its been more than 10 years since I went into one. I tried EZ pawn at south main and south post oak. 7 various beater rifles, and they state they no longer carry handguns. Neither does cash America they say. No idea if this is true, but this is what the manager stated, saying it is company wide.

It depends on the individual pawn shop. Cash America in Lewisville sells them, as well as Plano Pawn and another one here in Plano.

I can't remember if it's Insta-Cash or Cash America (maybe both), but they don't sell them around here anymore.

Re: Pawnshops no longer selling handguns
I have never seen an EZ pawn that sells handguns.
I bought my first handgun from a Cash America. Last I knew, as of last year, Cash America still sells handguns.

Re: Pawnshops no longer selling handguns
The Cash America nearest me quit selling guns in the store. They sell all the guns on gunsamerica and gunbroker and have a sign in the store stating such.

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961

If you are looking for guns, your best bet is to go to the mom n' pop privately owned pawn shops. Most of the bigger, corporate types have stopped selling them

My brother went to Collectors and found an H&K. I told him to try Tomball pawn, and they sold one in better condition for half the price. I need to go by there.

I bought my 1911 from Richard at Tomball Pawn. He is a distributor for many & I believe he carries more new weapons than used. Great people to deal with and have very reasonable prices.M9FAN wrote:I've heard the same thing!TDDude wrote:Think, TOMBALL PAWN!!!

Re: Pawnshops no longer selling handguns
Hey, I'm a pawn shop junkie!
Surprisingly, I still find a few here and there that sell handguns in Marshall, Longview, Tyler...usually slim pickings on handguns though...hit or miss.
Anyone frequent the New Boston area? There's a shop up there...I think it's called Paul's Pawn or something of that sorts. I stopped there one time on a whim. I go in looking for the guns and find none, just a bunch of used holsters, misc. ammo, and the usual pawn shop junk. Just as I'm about to leave, I see a cardboard sign that says, "Guns this way" or something of that sorts. I walked into a back room and for a moment I thought I had passed into another realm. That guy had an impressive inventory...
[*]Colt Single Action Army's (color case hardened and blue...tons of 'em)
[*]AK's...several variants
[*]AR's...several...even an original Colt SP1 Carbine
[*]Several Winchester model 12's
[*]1911's in a bunch of flavors
[*]Savage 99's
Quality stuff, not a bunch of junk...
As usual, I was low on funds so I only salivated on the glass top cases and fondled a few pieces while talking to the owner. Nice guy. Check it out if you're up that way.
