Not cripple any more

Post by longtooth »

I went to the range yesterday afternoon. Son in Law went w/ me. Shot the Tikka 300wsm, M1A, & my first time to really work my new knee out under a pistol.
Tikka holds a good inch groop at 100. M1A 2.25 w/ the battle sites. Seems like I cant tighten it up any from there. I go to 3 some too.

Got my new knee in January & did some move & shoot for the first time in a long LONG time. I can actually run on it now. (If old men really run)
Started slow to test the knee out. We worked for about an hr I guess.

Last drill before leaving I really tested the knee.
Running & shooting, started at 5yds. maybe a little less. Draw, run away to left at about 45% shooting back. 5 shots going away & planted left foot to turn & come back to the right for last 5 out of a 10rd Wilson. (Planted foot & the knee held as should. Sure felt good to not fall down.) Ended at about 9yds. Held all 10 from Wilson mag on the silouette & 7 in the 8 ring. 2 pelvis & one just on the shoulder.

No way to tell for sure but I figure 1st 2 in the ring, next 3 moving away in the pelvis & just on the blue at shoulder. Last 5 back to right & 2 handed in the ring.

Need to get my wagon out & move & shoot at moving target some.
I am not cripple any more.
I Am Not Cripple Any More.
I AM NOT CRIPPLE ANY MORE.

I know that is a real relief. Being a member of the old guy's with bum knees club myself I am watching the progress of my boss' partial replacement with keen interest. Good luck!

Congratulations.
Sounds like you're having a great recovery from a successful surgery. Glad to hear it!

You take super care, Sir and BTW my precious grandaughter KARA played her first soccer practice exactly 12 days after surgery!! That is amazing thanks for your kind thought and most of all your prayers.

Got mine done in late January also.
Tried to MD and shoot a MultiGun match afetr 5 weeks, even with staionary positions was pushing it.
I'm about where you are, but still can not take a knee yet and per my orthopedist, squating will probably be out.

Glad to hear you are recovering speedily.

Congratulations,I know what it's like to be limited on movement but spinal cord injurys like mine are pretty permanent i have exceeded my doctors expectations and i'm not confined to a wheelchair but i'm not running anywhere, not even if the boogeyman was after me lol i'd have to stand and shoot him.I did have knee surgery in 1982 after i was run over on my motorcycle and that knee is better than my other knee which is good but the medical stuff they do today can sometimes almost make you better than anytime beforre

Congratulations on your improved mobility!

I am sure you've put a great deal of sweat, pain and effort to get where you are.

Follow your Doctor and Therapists instructions.

Best wishes,
