Do weekends count?

Post by ArmedTeacher »

I was looking at the day counts that those of us in the waiting room have been posting and started wondering about the 60 day limit and whether weekend days count toward that. Is it 60 calendar days or 60 business days?

Yup 60 Calender days. But dont hold your breath!! Although the "Law" or "Rule" is 60 days apparently they are above the "Law" and get to it when they can. So just pull up a seat and relax... :banghead:

Isn't there some law against cruel and unusual punishment? For those folks who've waited over the 60 day law, I'm sure it feels cruel but maybe not unusual. I'm at 55 days today, and I'm relatively certain there is no one at DPS working on my application today--it being Memorial Day. Hopefully I have it before I leave on a week long trip to Missouri at the end of June.

Don't be so sure about that.
I emailed them last Tuesday mid-day, and I just got an email back this morning (Memorial Day !)about 10:00A.M., telling me that my license had been issued, and was put in the mail outbox today.
I guess they ARE working overtime, and holidays, to catch up.
We will see, depending on if the license reaches me this week. :txflag:

KC5AV-

Thank you. 'Bout time they got something done, I guess.

Grapeno 1-

Timeline?
Heh, long enough I could have applied via carrier pigeon, smoke signals, or flag signals by now.
Shoot, even communicating with Austin using morse code via mirrors would have been faster than this process.

Lessee,
Mailed paperwork and application in on January 25th via regular class mail.
Guessing Austin received it the next week or so.
Got a letter from Austin on March 25th, stating that they had entered my application in for processing the previous week, and my fingerprints were denied on March 22nd (A Saturday?), hence the letter.
Made an appointment with F.A.S.T. for April 1st
Express Mail'd the prints April 1st to DPS
DPS never signed for them, but Wednesday of the next week my online status changed to Processing Application.

So, from January 25th to now has been about 122 days, if my math serves me right.
Could be worse.

I concur, as I sent a status request last Friday and received a response today (Memorial Day 12:43 PM):

Your application was received. I do not have any further information at this point, because your application has not been fully entered into the system.

Hello,

I just wanted to check the status of my application. It has been 9 weeks since I mailed the packet and still have the status “Packet Mailed to Applicant on the TX DPS website. Any ideas?

Call 'em.

Mrs. Oldgringo still holds the record for the longest time between mailing and receiving. She submitted on 12/18/07 and although we were told last week that the license has been issued, by both our state Senators' office and the CHL, she ain't received it yet! :grumble

Do the math, we're talking about some 160 days, Rick! :banghead:
