Parking ticket

Post by Shu »

I have no idea where to post this, so i thought the off topic area would surfice. I really have kinda of 2 questions.

I was at the san antonio airport picking up my wife and the road that goes to I believe the second terminal the one on top there where cars parked on the side with people still in them waiting to pick people up. For the life of me I couldnt find the cell phone parking lot so I pulled behind one of there cars. 30 mins pass and a bike cop comes flying by and parks right in front of the car in front me. All the cars behing me start moving so i do the same. He whistles at me to get back so i complied. Once he was finshes with the lady he came to me and just handed me a ticket. ( I diserved it) he didnt say anthing. So i finally leave and find the cell parking lot and read my ticket there are litlle check box that depict what the ticket is for i.e.(parking in front of fire hydrnat, handicap, etc.) The handicap check box is right above the regular 20 dollar illegal parking but he checked them both so it looks like i parked in a handicap. Also he did this where it dipicts a car and truck it looks like checked the truck but I drive a car. Oh man this longer then i though. Well I missed the date that appears on the ticket but my reall question is can you get a warrent for this. Also when I look it up to pay it on the sapd website it says no record found and it also states that if you missed the date you have to pay 10 dollars extra.

Thank you for you help and sorry this was a long post.

The reason that it is not on the SAPD wedsite may be because it was writen by Airport Police and not SAPD. There should be a number on the ticket that you can call to find out about what to do since you missed the date.

SAPD is trying to take over Airport Police but as of right now they have not.

Once many years ago, I ignored 2 parking tickets (chalk it up to young a stupid). About 2 years later 1994 I received a letter from the city informing me I had an Ordinance Violation and owed a fine of $300. I went to the Circuit Crt. paid my fee of $300, plus the original ticket, plus court costs. I don't think they would have come out an arrested me, but it ended up costing about 20X the original parking ticket violation to settle the issue.

No warrant can be issued for failure to appear on a parking ticket since you never signed a promise to appear. Furthermore the police can't issue a warrant for the tickets since they can not prove it was you who was driving the vehicle and parked it there. I know in your case the cop did see you but just the same this is the general rule the city courts use.
My posts on this website are worth every cent you paid me for them.
