Valero down the street, why I carry

Hey all, there is this Valero maybe 1 minute away from my house. Well the other day I saw like 10 police cars, 2 ambulances, firetrucks the works. So Im outside wondering what the heck is going on bc at this point a helicopter is flying over the woods behind our house which the store has the woods behind it also. I was fast to think that if that place was robbed then the guy would have taken off in the woods behind the house so I armed myself just in case and went back outside to listen to whats going on. luckly nothing happened and about 3 days passed. I got a chance to go over to the store and ask what happened. As much as we go to this store we knew the guys pretty well that work there. Well come to find out these guys tried to rob him and he shut the bullet resistant glass and they fired 3 times into it not breaking it. He then locked the door to the store and they couldnt get out. So then one of the guys escaped by shooting the glass and running. So I asked then well why dont you have a gun to protect yourself and he smirked and then said wanna see? I said sure, and sure enough he pulled out a black shotgun and I could see he felt pretty safe. So I left knowing that whoever tries this next time is going to have some problems. IM not sure if they caught the guys but as many constables were out here I would think they did

I don't think I've seen a Valero with bulletproof glass around the registers before. Glad they had it. Let us know if you hear any updates.
