CHL/ID Holder?

Post by KingOfDirk »

Hi everyone,

If you please, tell me how you carry your license - do you stick it in your wallet like a credit/debit card? Do you have a double-id holder (TDL, CHL) in your wallet?

Just kinda curious. I'm a sucker for the oddest things: watches, hand-made bicycles, music on vinyl and well-made wallets, so I thought I'd see if anyone's found something neat for the plastic...

I bought a wallet at Walmart that has a removable folded holder for two photo IDs, plus a slot for a credit card. I carry that in my shirt breast pocket, and everything else in my regular wallet. When you flip open the ID holder, it shows both the DL and the CHL, behind clear plastic. I carry it in my breast pocket so that, if asked for ID by an officer (or anyone else, for that matter), I can get it out without going near my gun.

Wallet in my pocket has a little cash, credit cards, business cards, hunting liscense.

DL, CHL, & insurance is in an ID pac around my neck. Easier to get to if stopped, hands always visible, bilfold lost or stolen I dont have to worry about lost DL or CHL. Credit cards are easy to stop.

LT, the ID pack sounds like a good idea. Is it something you bought, or modified? Do you have a pic?

I have this one: http://www.duluthtrading.com/search/sea ... &kw=wallet Very slim and lightweight. DL/CHL in the single pocket, debit, credit, and medical insurance on the other side. Cash in the middle. Everything else is in my laptop case.

Simple thin bifold. $3.00 at WalMt. I use a heavy shoe string as the neck lanyard. If you want to try one send me an address & I will send you an old one to try. No pic. The camera is at the church. :banghead: We are doing an add on & remodle.

I've gotten several emails from Legally Armed about a neck ID pouch to hold a CHL license with reflective safety tape added for high visibility.

I thought about posting it a few times but thought it might be like badges.

Yep. Like a badge. Drop all the legally armed stuff & just have your ID in the bifold.

Works fine for me, except I get funny looks from cashiers when I put the wrong one on top.

I'm not a cop, nor do I play one on tv. Put it in your wallet like everything else. :cheers2:

Same set up here, only I have mine arranged so that my CHL (when in the wallet) is on the top. That way I can insert it into the single credit card slot (obscuring it from view) but still flip my DL out for I.D. at stores, etc..

If I need to show it to LEO (only three times in 12 years), I simply remove it from my wallet before they reach my vehicle (I am always: documents in hand, window down, lights on, engine off, hands out of window and polite).

Coincidentally, I received only verbal warnings all three times, YMMV.

I use a small ID holder with Drivers License, Vehicle Insurance Cards and CHL. When traveling, it's much easier to have my DL readily available instead of digging for my wallet. On a typical business trip, I may have to show ID a dozen times (at airport security checkpoints) and with my hands full of luggage it's much easier to just reach into the breast pocket. The CHL and Insurance were added just for convenience and it makes sense that if pulled over I'd have them readily available.

This is what I use: http://www.popsleather.com/prod_v2.php3?prod=40" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That's what I use... different company, but same kind of product.
