Post by Nintao »

Again posting for a co-worker with an arsenal!

Olympic Arms M-4 AR-15 Carbine .223 $1500 DFW Area

Cell# 702-592-4138

You can post here or PM me, but you would have a better chance calling him directly to get first dibs as I cannot always check this forum at work. He should have his cell on him at all times. Any questions call him as I would not be able to answer them here... I am a little late getting into firearms it would seam :cryin .

I posted a receiver for him earlier in the evening and he is trying to aquire more from his sources, if he does I will post a new topic for him.

Just curious...

Did he sell it at that price?

If he goes to a gun show he can probably find a panic buyer.

That was pre-bama. What we have here is a prime example of change. :biggrinjester:

I do not think he sold it yet... but then again all I did was list it for him. I am not familiar enough with ARs to know the diference... or should I say I do not have the extra cash flow to have to worry about it. I wish I could scrouge up some funds... too many hobbies!

AFAIR, pre, a base OLY would have been around $700. In M4 config, probably $850-$900.

We're not supposed to slam pricing in threads, but I guess since this is a second party listing..........

Your friend may have added accessories not mentioned that increase its value.

If it's an unmodified Oly M4, his asking price does seem high.

But in the madness of the last month, who's to say.

Well come to find out at work this morning, he is selling 2 of them... or "was" selling 2. It seams someone bought one over the weekend for that asking price of $1500 to a dealer... I guess supply and demand works for people who wanted to invest.

Absolutely, you're right about that. But in this thread, I don't think this is so much "slamming" as it is "sticker shock." If the man can get that price for that gun, then then that is the price he should sell it at. That is what I would do in his place. None of us "owes" it to the rest of American gun owners to sell a rifle at half of whatever its current market value happens to be at the time, just because we don't like the market trend. Sadly, this is the current market trend. That being said, I think that most of us are simply dismayed that this is what such a rifle is currently going for, and that dismay is being expressed. No reflection on the seller. Just dismay that this is what things have come to.

It's going on everywhere:

$1700 for a sub $1000 AR. I had emailed the guy asking if it was the same as the ones at Academy and he blasted me for comparison shopping. I told him "Good luck".
