Travel to Delaware and Pennsylvania

Post by fredtubbs »

I have a work need to travel frequently to the Philadelphia airport and then drive to Delaware. Both states are listed as reciprocal for Texas CHL. But, I have some concerns about carrying in both places that are, really, stemming from a lack of understand of their laws.

So, here's my question. Do you think I can go to the airport, declare my handgun with the airline, pick it up in Philly, conceal it, go to my rental car, then drive to Delaware?

The concealed in Philly part has me concerned for sure. Anyone have insights?

Thanks.

Pennsylvania generally is firearms friendly, but Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are not.

I don't anything about the situation in Delaware.

Thanks - outstanding information there.

From what I have read, a Texas CHL would permit me to carry concealed in Penn. on my way to Delaware, even in Philadelphia. Now I'll try to figure out the Delaware part.

I am from PA and travel frequently to visit family and as soon as I get out of airport I "pack up" with a license you can open carry in Philly and in your car, every place else you dont need a license to open carry, wouldn't recommend it in Philly unless you got time and $$$$. However you would probably end up being set for life w/ a Civil Rights lawsuit. PA is like every other place.... some cops know the law and some cops DO NOT (West Whiteland, Chester County for example).

Know nothing about Delaware, dont go there often. Good luck and safe travel!

:iagree:

That's where i went when looking into PA laws. They don't have the same language restrictions as this forum does though, in case that matters to you.

Reading into the PA laws an interesting difference than here I found was you can legally open carry into a bar -- that's not to say the owner won't tell you to leave of course (or that I would recommend it).
