Letter from TSRA/Alice Tripp

Post by nitrogen »

Got the following in my email, and I think it sums up my feelings on this legislative session quite well.
I wanted to post it for those that might not get communications from TSRA:
Alice Tripp wrote: TSRA members, Family and Friends

The 81st Session of the Texas Legislature gaveled to a close Monday, June 1st. The next regular session will begin in January 2011.

Thank you to TSRA members who answered email alert requests, and there were many, who contacted their state representatives and their state senators. We did not lose bills because our issue was wrong or unjust.

We lost bills because of the legislative process, a process we may someday use ourselves to stop anti-gun legislation, endangering Second Amendment Rights in Texas and our personal freedoms.

Good Bills were passed for gun owners in Texas and Good Bills were passed for concealed handgun licensees and instructors.

We need more TSRA members, sign up your friends and family.

Sincerely
Alice Tripp

That last line says it all.

For the number of CHL holders in the state, versus the number of TSRA members, we need more to join. Even if you don't own a rifle, the TSRA has been instrumental in the passing of the original CHL laws, as well as pro-2a legislation since. If they are to keep making progress, they need our support.

Had mine in the mail when I got home Sat & Rocket_Cowboy is correct.

If you are CHL you OUGHT to be a member of the TSRA. If you own a gun the same.
We are in just as as serious a battle as 65yrs ago on Normandy, Omaha, & the rest of the French coast. Bullets are not the same & the blood is not the same.

The sweat & tears better be the same or we will fall to Socialism as sure as we would have fallen to Natzi Germany if we had not been willing to fight the battle that was at hand.

It is no longer enough to vote. We must keep writing, E-mail, calling, politicians & papers. It is hard, tiring, boring some times, but has to be fought or my children & grandones will live under socialism.
