I don't understand where all these people learn this stuff.
Do they teach it in College? I was too busy fighting in the "Conflict" to go to College so I don't know......
NObama is a well educated individual and lies from both sides of his face at the same time.
I guess it is impossible to get someone to actually do the job of representing their constituents responsibly and honestly....
There may be a few that I am unaware of, but you gotta admit this Country is going down the tubes at the expense of these "Leaders".
Just to keep this post within the rules of the Forum.......I am in favor of the 2nd amendment.

Q. How can you tell for sure when ANY politician is lying?
A. His lips are moving.

It is inaccurate to say that I hate everything. I am strongly in favor of common sense, common honesty, and common decency. This makes me forever ineligible for public office. H. L. Mencken

The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

The fact that you title your post "all of them both Dem and Rep" is incorrect and clearly without factual basis. All of them? Don't you think that's a little over the top? Some of them? Absolutely. But let's not generalize. It just makes people think you're another frothing at the mouth kook, and then your point will get ignored.

You can't even consider running for these offices unless you are capable of convincing wealthy and powerful people to give you money and very big favors. No one give large sums of money without expecting something in return for it. One has to develop a powerful core of friends who will invest a portion of their lives top get elected. Very few people will work that hard without expecting something in return. Those who do tend to work in more honorable places such as orphanages and monestaries. There are moral politicians, but they are usually found in schoolboards or history books.

Thanks for your input, but even you failed to ignore it.
Titles are to get attention, I obviously got yours. Read the text where I stated that "some" may be OK.

I am a firm believer that we get the politicians we deserve. And in our country, we don't pay enough attention to what is going on or what a politician has actually done. Instead we pay a lot of attention to their words and believe what we want to believe. As a result, politicians can generally lie with impunity. Exhibit 1 is Obama.
Notice at the beginning of a campaign, how the candidates, especially for the presidency are far apart. As the election gets closer, they get closer to center.
Whoever gets elected, then gets hit with the reality of governance, and changes again.
The Obamination has changed, but his reality and his theory are still living inside the same head, so watch out!
Congresspersons are another story, they must bring home the pork. Their main function is to get reelected. (already said).
Just my opinion.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... (Jefferson quoting Beccaria)
... tyrants accomplish their purposes ...by disarming the people, and making it an offense to keep arms. - Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, 1840
I certainly agree that the problem is with both the Democrats and Republicans. The only seems to change between the two is who's money is paying for the campaigns.
In my humble opinion they may all be there supposedly representing "We the People", but they are working for someone else. Lets use Obama as a reference, black man from a broken home, tours the world fresh out of high school, comes home and attends a ivy league university, becomes an activist's, never really holds a real job. Who paid for his rise to fame? Someone he owes!
I would like to see, next to every politians name, what his / hers job title / desciption was before becoming a politian.
We need term limits and the ability to recall a representative or senator if they suddenly decide to change from the ideas that got them elected.

It would be more correct to say that the nation's "leaders" are prospering in power, influence, and monetarily, at the expense of the Constitution and our rights.
