Can anyone recommend a good 1911 smith around the McKinney area?

Thanks in advance!

1911's are great because you can do a lot of tweaking yourself. If you need help or advice on how to do a specific
tweak (not requiring machining) you might try the gunsmithing section at: forum.m1911.org

I'm sure many on this forum (Txchl) would/could help you with almost any 1911 problems.
Good luck.

I don't know if Denton is too far from you but, Larry Pockrus (214-801-1507) is located near here and just did a sweet trigger job on my Springfield Loaded. He was fast and the price was very reasonable.

It's been several years since I lived up that way but used to use Gene Williams, out of Princeton (just down the road from McKinney) and who used to work out of the collin county gun range... I understand it's no longer but You might still be able to use Gene. Try 214-673-5510 or 972-734-6699. Last I heard, he was still smithing.

If you get in touch with Gene, either post it or PM me and let me know if he's still smithing and if he has a new shop or contact info.

Thanks
