Homeowner gets shot by police

WOW!!!! Scarey stuff.

This guy catches a home intruder, has him on the floor at gun point. Him and his wife both call 911 and explain the situation. The wife greets 3 police outside, and tells them, my husband has the gun, don't shoot him. Cops come in, and shoot the homeowner 6 times while he's still on the phone. The first time was in the back.

WOW...

I keep trying to think of what the homeowner could have done differently in that situation, but I am at a loss. I mean really, how many different ways and avenues do you need to use to give the police the heads up before they come into your house. What do you think?
