Like new Springfield SOCOM 16 M1A in .308 all black. Had only had 20 rounds thru it. As new condition. Has 4 brand new black CMC 20 round mags and 1 gray 20 round mag (I dont know the brand) Have the box and manual for it. Black nylon sling is included. I will throw in what ammo I have for it also. This is the SOCOM 16 not the SOCOM 16 II with rail on it.

What so special about thus rifle?

Classic lines, good accuracy, semi-automatic, historically important (in its standard configurations), 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Winchester, based on the venerable M14 select fire battle rifle. The variant for sale here allows the mounting of a forward positioned scope as in a scout rifle.

The primary differences between the two are the barrel length, which is shortened from 22" to 16" on the SOCOM model, and the incorporation of a Picatinny rail mounted forward of the action.

The M14s are among the last of the battle rifles designed with wood stocks, although many M1A variants now have synthetic stocks, as does mine.

M1As are the natural descendants of the M1 Garand of WW2 fame, and they are still used today in 1,000 rifle competition; and M14s remain in selective use in the military in a variety of specialized roles.

Its tough as nails, accurate as it needs to be, will punch holes through cinder blocks and still reach out and touch the target. It is BLACK too! Really though...it is the shortest hardest hitting battle rifle on the market with a proven track record dating way back. And I WANT one!

The M1A is just a classy-looking rifle, period. I hate to admit it, but I would buy it on looks alone. Kinda like my next wife.
