Rifles and pistols can be shipped person to person, in-state only.

Don't be confused just be glad that you have learned something you did no know. All of the information above is correct! You should be excited about not having to pay UPS or FEDEX something they take advantage on.

I have a friend who is selling a DPMS Sweet 16. He has replaced the A2 stock with a 6 position collapsible one. The rifle has a Truglo 6-24x44mm Infinity series scope with a mil-dot reticle. He is asking $1,000 for the complete package. It's a nice package for the price. He showed it to me a week ago.

The rifle is nearly new, having had 30 rounds fired through it.

My friend lives in Fort Worth, but he might be willing to meet you half way to make the sale. Let me know if you want me to talk to him.

Don't know quiet for you are looking for but i've heard good things about cmmg.

They have their bargain bin rifle.

Should leave you some change for add ons

Also this is a package from talon arms is very good value for money when you add it all up separately.
http://www.talonarms.com/talonarms/inde ... ts_id=1356" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
the rifle in the kit is the one at the top of this page, so you can have a look at the specs.
http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/?ca ... 845&cat=95&" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also if you can figure out what rifle you want, check out gunbroker. I recently picked up a brand new colt 6920 for $1100, $15 for shipping and $10 dollars to pick it up from my FFL.
It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue.

Dude go to GT distributors in atx...their prices and selections are amazing. I would say pick up the Daniel Defense they have in. It's a good price and sick weapon.

Yes. pistols too in-state.
Not correct. Handguns can be sold face to face, but if shipped, have to be shipped to a FFL, in or out of state, and have to be sent by common carrier. Long guns can be shipped to an individual in-state only and can be sent through the Postal No-Service.

This is incorrect. Handguns CAN be shipped person to person by carrier in the state.
Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier?

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.

I think many people read the FAQ's located here on the one for Postal Service an interpret it as the rule, instead of reading the next question.

I think there also may be some carriers that don't want to ship handguns to a private person, but not sure.

let's say i purchase a rifle and or a handgun from someone in Dallas.... they can just put this in the mail directly to me at my house , and neither of us have to worry about FFl.... ???

somehow that just does not make sense.....

i have bought handguns w/in the state before and all "had" to be shipped via FFL.....

No, read the Q&A in the links above. You can ship a long gun in-state via the Postal Service. You must ship a handgun in-state through a common carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) that will accept the shipment to a private individual. It is legal per the ATF.

However, if it makes you feel better for the person on the receiving end to get it through an FFL, then that is your choice to require it.
