Opinions?: CT Laser Guard LG-436 for Glock 19/26
The CT Laser Guard for my LCP has been so wonderful that I'm strongly considering picking up one for my Glock 26 (LG-436). My Glock 19 normally has the Glock Light on it's rail, so only planning on putting this laser on by G26 - even though it's made to fit both.
Does anyone have experience with this CT Laser mounted on trigger guard - when compared to CT Lasergrip (LG-626)? I do not want to alter the grip of my G26 and think this CT Laser Guard option would be a better (though more expensive) option. Expense will not only come in the form of unit itself, but also basically makes my current 2 holsters (M-Tac Slide & Bianchi Professional 100) worthless... If Comp-Tac offers an actual housing that compensates for the Laser Guard, then I can at least save on purchasing the entire unit - hope they do, but website doesn't suggest this thus far (will find out Monday).
I've read a small number of reviews on forum thus far, but most reference the CT Lasergrip rather than this fairly new CT Laser Guard.

Have you seen these? No need for new holsters.

I've got one on my XD 45 but, as my recent post indicates, I'm not too happy with it. Of course, others may have had better results than me...Cosmo 9 wrote:Have you seen these? No need for new holsters.

Timely info!! I was thinking about a set for my G36 but I'm still not sure I'm going to keep it.

I have LG-436 on my Glock 19. I like it; nylon type holsters like uncle mikes or Desantis "Tuck This 2" still fit.
On my Glock 26 and Taurus PT92, I have the internal guide rod laser in hybrid leather/kydex holster.
Compare/Contrast:
Internal Guide rod lasers: I really like, except you have turn them on/off and they blink; no special holster though. Always in alignment, always paralell to the barrel, never needs adjusting.
LG-436: is "on" when you grip the pistol, which may be bad if you don't want the laser giving away your position at night, but good if you are in too much a hurry to "turn it on" it also looks either like a larger dot or brighter to me than the internal ones. With practice you can "grip" without pressing the "on" button with the LG-436, until ready. Mine needs adjusting every so often as it gets out of alignment just from being carried, even more so after each range trip..... tougher to trust one that might need aligning/adjusting.

Spoke to Comp-Tac today. They tried making a holster for Glock w/Laser Guard but concluded that their design just could not accomodate this setup. The representative I spoke to today said that they likely would not (ever) have a holster to meet this design - at least not in foreseeable future.G26TR wrote:Expense will not only come in the form of unit itself, but also basically makes my current 2 holsters (M-Tac Slide & Bianchi Professional 100) worthless... Ok, here is my .02 and I'll make it quick.
I don't like the CT grip lasers because when you are holding the gun in the "finger off" position with your index finger parallel to the slide my fingers natural position blocks the laser making it impossible to line up on your target. Of course there is that momentary thought of "oops" and you can then reposition for an unobstructed beam of light.
But in a situation where I need it and I'm trying to focus and my heart rate is elevated I don't need there to be anything else for me to have to mentally process before I'm capable of defending myself.
But to each his own.
Also, mind you that that was my first impression and on down the road I may buy a set and just train myself to keep my fat nubs out of the way.
I like the green lasers better anyways, but untill Viridian comes out with a grip laser it looks like CT will prob get my business when I get to that point.

The CT Laser Guard LG-436 model is one that wouldn't have the index finger issue. As shown in pic on my orig post, it actually mounts directly "under" trigger guard & weapom - in perfect center (not off to side).MedicMan218 wrote:Ok, here is my .02 and I'll make it quick.

This is one of the key features that I do like about the location of this Laser Guard. Other positives are that I could rack slide in original form - without having to worry about or getting snagged by the laser on side. Of course, another benefit is predominately an unaltered grip. Finally, there may be an additional benefit of better control (w/finger on trigger) of laser on/off as needed. I seem to do OK with this on LCP+CT.

Re: Opinions?: CT Laser Guard LG-436 for Glock 19/26
I'll tell you the main reason for the lack of holsters which fit the Crimson Trace Trigger Guard mount lasers.
Many holster makers use the "Blue guns" to make holsters.
CT won't provide any holster makers with "dummy lasers" They offer to sell fully functioning lasers for each model gun at a slightly reduced price (not much)
Holster makers aren't going to, and wouldn't be able to afford to, invest that much money in every model from every brand of laser for every model gun.
I don't blame them.
I mean IF CT provided dummy lasers, or very very cheap lasers to holster makers such that more holsters would be made and sold which FIT guns WITH CT Lasers .... CT would sell MORE Lasers .... So CT is hurting itself also.
That's one reason I buy the Internal Guide Rod lasers for every gun I own that accepts them, for CARRY guns, with COMFORTABLE holsters, and am anxious for the green ones later.
The LG-436 is a great laser, it's on my leave at home gun, I really like it a lot, other than having to adjust it constantly, and I have other CTs on NAA Guardians and other pistols etc, but not planning to buy any more. Yes the CTs fit your normal generic nylon IWB holsters still.
I've had 9 or 10 brands of lasers in the past, starting in about 1988 when they were big ole' clunky things, a red dot is a red dot, a comfortable holster is priceless.
Out of all the brands and models I own, my fav is my Olive Drab Glock 26 with an extended ported blind marked barrel with Advantage Tactical Sights and an Internal Guide rod laser. Magazine depends where I am, 17mag+spacer at home, 19mag+spacer going out to store or anywhere, in a hybrid Kydex holster with smooth leather or smooth horsehide next to my skin and velcro on the clips on a Com-Tac kydex reinforced Velcroed belt. It is more comfortable than my old blue jeans or flip-flops are.
