When There Is A Problem...
For those of you that have had to get new fingerprints or passport photos- was that request usually right away or is it typically towards the end of the wait? The reason I'm asking is that my prints were sort of smudgy and I'm curious if, after waiting 30+ days, I'm going to get a letter requesting that I re-do them or am I home free now that I have been "processing" for this long? Also, when DPS requests something do they update the web status to say that they are requesting something or do they just send a letter?

Your best bet is to give them a call and find out for sure... The online status updates are pretty limited, and aren't always accurate. (I've heard of people getting plastic in the mail when "processing app" was still displayed online. If something is wrong with your fingerprints, they will send a letter asking for a resubmit.
Hope this helps!

Re: When There Is A Problem...
I had the same thing happen to me and when everyone else was receiving their plastic I was still waiting. I sent them an email and found out that my passport photos needed to be resubmitted due to being too dark and too red. I had to wait on the letter that came in the mail because I had to send their letter back with my new photos. Unfortunately they won't update your status from processing until you resubmit your prints. Once I turned my new photos in it only took about two weeks and I had plastic in hand. Hope this information helps. Good luck I hope you have a fast turnaround.

I wonder why it took over a week longer than everyone else I see posting on here?

Congrats mark!
Yup, time to set up the lawn chair and "lemonade" cooler next to the mail box.
Hope your mail man is quick.
