How to make a Glock "PURTY"...Pictures included

Post by 03Lightningrocks »

Several months ago my daughter decided my Glock 26 was just the gun she always wanted...LOL. I am sure many of you have had a woman in your life commandeer your handguns. So anyway... she saw a pink gun at a gun store and said she wished Glock had a pink gun. Well.... they don't offer the option, but thanks to duracote, it can be done.

She hasn't seen it yet. I just picked it up at the Post Office. I think she is gonna like it. this looks cool to me. I would get one done on my G19, but can't find a color that looks "manly".

Here is the guy that did the work. He has some cool looking stuff on his web sight. Total time was about three to four weeks.

That is purty! What's the price tag on getting this done? I don't have a pink gun and would like my Glock 26 to look like your pictures.

Oh come on Lighting there's lots of "manly" colors in DuraCoat's pallette I think a G19 in "Barney Purple" would complement your daughter's pink G26. :evil2:

Just funnin' there a lot of reallly great colors available. I did a 1911 in Woodland Tan and Oxide Black.

That is exactly how my son and I ended our discussion about it. We both agreed.

Plus shipping each way. It is not a bad price in my opinion. You can also buy the stuff and try to do it yourself. i thought about it and backed off. I would rather just pay and be done with it.

The woodland tan is not a bad option. Maybe an Olive drab type color would look alright. Truth is, I am too darned cheap to spend the money for myself...LOL. But for my daughter I am a sucker.

When I said I did the 1911 I mean I did the work the hardest part of the whole process was putting it back together.

Wow!!! You did a good job. I saw the "kits" Duracote offered. They even had what looked like aerosol cans to use for spraying the duracote on the gun parts. Did you sand blast the parts or just clean them off real good before doing the duracote? I was real tempted to try it but the price to have Jim's do it was not much more than all the supplies I would have bought. That does look good though. Just as clean as the one I paid Jim to do.
