Best gun finish for chl in Texas??

Post by Matthew2000tx »

Just wanting some input on what y'all think the best finish would be for a concealed gun here in Texas especially with the heat and potential for body sweat.

Blued
hard chromed
duracoat
cerakote
parkerizing
etc???

and then forget about oil stains, rust, etc.
There is no finish that withstands corrosion anywhere near as good as Black T. If corrosion is your benchmark, no one else is even in the game.

It's not as hard as some finishes and not as pretty as others, but your gun will never rust.

An independent testing committee quit the salt test spray after 7464 hours because there was no sign at all of corrosion and they felt they were wasting their time and wouldn't see any for a long time. The finish also has 50,000 hours of US Navy use with no corrosion.

I had this guy do a makarov for me. He guarantees it to never rust. I've since sold the mak so I can't tell you what it looks like now. It did look nice for an old mak.

Clear glass or Ceramic ...

The mythical "CERAMIC Glock" won't rust and is undetectable by metal detectors I heard somewhere.
The porcelain is cleaned with "scrubbing bubbles" bathroom cleanser.
I believe they are TOTALLY undetectable ... I can never find one. "rlol"
