Midway USA specifies different stocks for the ADL and the BDL, even for the same stock style. Here is the search link for ADL synthetic stocks: http://www.midwayusa.com/Search/#synthe ... -4_8-16-32.

So my guess is that NO, a BDL stock will not fit on a ADL action and barrel - at least not without some modifications. OTH, a pretty nice Bell & Carlson or HS Precision synthetic stock won't set you back too much, and if you're just looking for a cheap synthetic stock to thrash around with, you can get one for under $100, depending on whether it is a long action or short action stock.

I own several Rem 700's but I've never tried to switch stocks on any of them. But with that said, I do know there's a difference in the larger calibers,ie. "long action", and the smaller calibers "short action". Between the ADL and BDL on the same long action rifle, the only difference that I'm aware of is the hinged floor plate on the BDL as opposed to no magazine floor plate on the ADL. Both the BDL and CDL have hinged floor plates sooo, my semi-educated guess would be that a BDL stock would work just fine on a CDL with the same action length.

Hope this helps ya a little, Jerry

Good opportunity to buy another one with a synthetic stock!

I would say, shoot it, take it the field, let it get scratches, what ever scratches. It is just deer hunting rifle with wood stock. It is not a $70,000 shot gun?

Come back with a Buck and have fun.
