In Bushland (Amarillo area), Tuesday, a "suspect" attempted to abduct women and young girls at gunpoint in multiple incidents. He "allegedly" shot and killed a woman who protected her minor granddaughters.

The police caught up with the "suspect" and put him out of his misery, rescuing an 11-year-old girl that he had abducted.

Rope. Tree.
Good job LEO's.
There isn't much I loathe more than those who would harm youngins or the elderly.

It would be a waste of good ammo. Problem solved. Next?... it's a real shame they can't shoot him any more.
It's cautionary that this guy was in his 50s and just went off the deep end this way.

I'm quite familiar with this tragic case that has been in the Amarillo news for about three days. First the perp tried to abduct a woman at a convenience store at gun point. She pulled away and ran into the store and the employee locked the door. Saved her life. Then he went to this Love's truckstop and tried to pull this lady's granddaughter away. She got in between them and he shot her in the back. Then he drove off and found nearby two girls and got one into his car. A deputy nearby responded. When he put on his lights and the fellow slowed down on a country road, the brave 11-year old girl jumped out into the bar ditch (minor injuries). Perp tried to shoot the deputy (who I had worked with) and he was shot/killed. Thank God he was put down. No apparent explanation yet what triggered this perp who seemed to be a normal family man in his 50's.seamusTX wrote:In Bushland (Amarillo area), Tuesday, a "suspect" attempted to abduct women and young girls at gunpoint in multiple incidents. Grandmother was a true hero. Granddaughter she saved was interviewed by TV and did a great job describing her beloved grandmother who saved her life. The 5-year-old grandson was also interviewed. A tragedy for sure but a loving grandmother acted to protect her charges. God bless her.
Jesus said, "And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 NET) Also, Jesus said, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own homestead, his possessions are undisturbed"(Luke 11:21 NAS)

One of the comments indicates this man may have been affected by a change in prescription drugs.
