PSC

Post by Venus Pax »

I went to mapquest and tried to get directions to PSC. I'm thinking the name is Pearland Shooting Club in Friendswood, but am having trouble looking up the information.
Does anyone have a web address for them?

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I believe PSC stands for "Pearland Sportsman's Club", which is frequently followed by "Shooting Club". It is one of the finest shooting facilities in the nation, and a place I sought to find the first day I arrived in the Houston area nearly two years ago.

On their site http://www.psc-range.com/ they have 4 links about 3/4 the way down on the left side of the page. Map I, Map II, MapQuest Map, and Yahoo Map.

An easy landmark to spot is a 1,200 foot red and white antenna tower next to the PSC access road.

I got to thinking about this...(I know, its a frightening concept...)

Visual landmarks are the best way to know your close to PSC...

I may have not noticed, but the PSC website, or this one could use some approach photos coming into the turnoff from the Ron Carter Dealership(s) side of FM 528, and mayby one from the FM 518 side, that one showing both the TV tower, and the big Water Tower on the right side of the road...

If I can drive by there sometime before the weekend, I snap some digitals and give them to you if you think that can help some new folks that may not have ever been out to PSC...

Someone could photoshop (better than me) an arrow showing where the entrance is...

We could then post it in the TCHL forum day thread somewhere, so some who are coming in from out of town for this weekend...

Even though I've been there, the entrance has always beena subtle part of how you get in there, if you ask me...And that might be a good thing in some ways... ;-)

Just another crazy idea... ;-)

I'll try to swing by there after work today...

Whats the light level around 6pm-ish there???

I want to be able to catch the TV tower and the water tower from both directions...

I'll still want to get out there...I just want to see if I need to really step it up before the light goes away too much for pictures...

I've just never been out there that late before...

PSC Photos

One of our members had access to a private plane and a camera. I did have them on their own page. Now, I have them rotating, each time you refresh the page.
