Branson mo

Post by Jbird5363 »

I'm in Branson and I haven't seen a no guns allowed sign yet.
I called there dps last week and they said if you see a sign that tells you not to carry don't. But I haven't seen any so I guess it's a very gun friendly state.

Just remember that just because MO is the "Show Me" state, that doesn't mean they want to see your gun!

Don't spend a lot of time looking for a 30.06 sign. The 30.06 sign that we know and love is unique to Texas.

I don't know about that TAM. MO is one of the open carry states, but they have a preemption problem like KS.

I believe the dams and lake are ACOE managed, if you take a tour of the dam they won't even allow a pocket knife.
BTW if you lose interest in all the tourist traps that take your money there is a Bass Pro in town. On second thought go there first, you can add a gun to your collection for cheaper than what you will spend on dinner and a show, even at Bass Pro prices.
Have fun

Missouri has specifics for their sign too, just not as detailed as Texas. The sign must be 11x14 with 1" letters somehow stating 'concealed carry is not allowed', not just a no guns sign.

And, yes, the state is open carry with no preemption. That means any municipality can ban open carry (but not CHL concealed carry) in their ordinances, so you have to be VERY cautious if you decide to open carry. Springfield just north of Branson and home of Bass Pro I believe is one that bans it, but could be wrong.

They also have MPA type of law that allows car carry concealed, but you can also open carry in your car if you are not in a city that bans it.

Bottom line, I travel to Missouri frequently (it is the state I grew up in, lived there for 38 years, and have a lot of family there) and I too have never seen a sign banning concealed carry. I open carry when I know I am on friendly property (like my families or friends homes or yards) but NOT into public to the grocery store or Wally World. :thumbs2:

Like Keith B I grew up in the great state of MO (Southeast) and still frequent there when I can. I have yet to see a "No CC sign". On a whole MO is a very gun friendly state. If they could do away with that preemption on OC they would be one of the friendliest gun states.

I'm back in tx it's good to be home. I will say I never felt I needed a gun there. It's very clean and I'm willing to bet they have a very low crime rate.

I am planning a trip to Branson. Does anyone know of an indoor or outdoor gunrange in the area? The Family would like to have an afternoon of loud fun. :anamatedbanana
Thank you
