When I shot IPSC,9mm would be scored as a minor caliber and .45 would be scored as major.38 super would make major without the recoil of a .45.I haven't competed in about 5 years,so I don't know what the rules are now.RECIT wrote:What is the reasoning behind the .38spr cartridge? Why not just chamber a 1911 in another service cartridge like 9mm or .380acp?
USPSA still scores 38 Super as major in open class. Limited class requires at least a .40 calibre bullet. No, CDP is .45ACP only.BrianSW99 wrote:IDPA doesn't distinguish between major and minor. Just has to make the minimum power factor. I believe this could be shot in either the ESP or CDP divisions.
