Alright folks - Looking to sell the Kimber I got in trade a while back. In the interest of full disclosure, it became a fixer-upper project. It had issues when I first got it, but it just needed some love and attention. It wasn't extracting when I got it due to the stupid external extractor design. Kimber was kind enough to manufacture a new, updated, slide with an internal extractor on it and install it for me. When I got it back, it was failing to go into battery which I traced to a heavily worn recoil spring. Kimber recommends replacing it every 800 rounds, so they do not have a long life. I replaced the entire recoil spring assemply (big spring, little spring, plunger) from Kimber. I kept the original and ordered replacement big springs as a back up. After extensive testing and a feed ramp polish this gun is good to go. I spent a better part of the day today at the range and it was a splendid pleasure. I even had some less experienced shooters run with it, and it ran flawlessly for them. As most of you, I have strict concerns on the reliability of a carry gun, and all my concerns are now gone.
Reason for sale is I have become smitten by the Colt CCO, and have to have one. I know I'm using extreme terms there, but I really want one. I'd keep this gun and just buy the CCO, but I'm back in school, getting married this year, and working towards being debt free - so that can't happen now. If I was in a different financial situation, I would keep it for sure. I have receipts for all the parts, and service from Kimber.
As it has a new slide, exposed wear is minimal. There is a minor wear on the magwell, and on the hammer.
The Tactical Ultra II features the following:
- Aluminum frame, Steel slide
KimPro II two-tone finish
Internal extractor
Front strap & Trigger guard checkering
3" barrel
Meprolight night sights
Double Diamond laminate Kimber grips
4-4.5lb trigger
MSRP: $1250
The gun was T&E'd by Kimber's LE division.
From me you get the Kimber box, manual, extra takedown tools, and a Wilson combat mag.
Price: $950
Only trades I'm looking for are a Colt CCO. I may consider a Commander, but I'm really stoked on the CCO.
