Arlington School Board considers concealed carry

Post by TexasGal »

A report on Channel 11 CBS tonight said the Arlington School Board might hear a proposal from two pro-carry supporters to allow CHL teachers and other school officials to carry concealed:

As of news time, the board had not yet allowed the two to present their arguments. The results are supposed to be in the AM news edition on Friday.

...that would be wise...I live not far from Arlington and in my district's high school, two guns were taken from students within 7 days last year...prompting my anti-gun wife who teaches to get a CHL...even though they can't carry yet...

The news reported this morning on the school board presentation. They decided not to make a decision at this time. From the expressions on the school board member's faces, I'd say they will allow it when pigs fly. Every one looked like your mom looked when her mind was made up and was just letting you finish your ideas to humor you. :banghead:

Perhaps if they care about safety, they'll invest in Kevlar book covers.

I don't quite understand why our state leaders value the lives of our school-age children less than they do with our college-age children. So our state legislature will consider a bill to protect our college students, but simply ignore our younger charges. Maybe because they are expendable? That they simply don't have enough years of education invested in them to be of any value to society?

(For the sarcasm-imparied: Yes, it's sarcasm. I get that way when I'm angry.)
