New season of Top Shot

Post by mbw »

The new season started last night, anyone else watch?

There were 3 people from TX, 2 males and 1 female. The guy from Weatherford was the first shooter eliminated! It looks like there will be more moving while shooting and shooting moving targets this season. All in all, good show.

Tuesday nights at 9 on The History Channel. It looks like there will be another new show on Friday the 8th.

Yep, I watched it. I was suprised that the blue team did so poorly. I think last season had better shooters. I mean we have people on there with no credibility. The guy from Wetherford that got eliminated was a Junior Champion, he is far from being a Junior any more. Just because you could shoot when you were a kid doesn't translate to today. I used to be a hell of a competitor 20 years ago too.

Hopefully it will get better. I rally liked it last season. I saw recently were Ian that won last year now has a job with Crimson Trace. Good move on their part. :cheers2:

I'll have to check it out...it was too much of a "Reality Show" last year with all the drama.

Watched last night, the previews for the challenges in future episodes looked interesting. I think all the competitors need to remember that past performance does not guaranty future results.

Hopefully this season will be more about the competition and less about the drama. :fire

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

It was a poor attempt at humor.

it was OK. Didn't really catch my attention as much as last years. I'll keep watching to see if it gets better.

Didn't realize it was back on. Thanks for the heads up. :tiphat:

Missed last night, but tried to watch the episode on the History Channel web site. After the darn thing froze (saying "connection lost") 5 times I gave up. Seems one of the top pistol guys on blue team missed all 7 shots in main event, so got voted into elimination against the "junior champion" from Weatherford. I take it the Texas guy lost.

I'm just glad the female member of the blue team, also a pistol champion who also missed all her shots, was not put into the elimination round. Be glad to see her again next week, she's easy on the eyes

Yep, they are still way overdoing the personal drama aspect. Sure wish they'd concentrate on the weapons and shooting techniques more. Almost like, " while you folks are here bickering, badmouthing, and backstabbing each other, we have a few little shooting chores for you to do."

But...If all the drama and trash talk is what it takes to draw a larger audience (and that's what the producers feel is needed), then I believe it is a "necessary evil" to expose more people to the sport of shooting...which is a good thing.
I for one am very glad this show exists.

Besides, without the back stabbing and fighting, I probably wouldn't be able to get my wife to watch with me. ;-)

Couldn't have said it better. My daughters were hooked on Tuesday night. They were cheering for the girls on the team, of course.
