A hospital that isn't posted
I had to go to the ER Friday night (dehydration).
I wasn't entirely with it when I entered, but dh said that there was a sign saying that you can't have guns in the hospital. When we left, I looked on the doors, and all I saw was the ghostbuster sign-- no 30.06 sign.
It was Northeast Hospital in Humble.
Just thought I'd let you know.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I'm feeling better. By yesterday morning, I was able to keep down water, gatorade, and popsicles.
I ate soup and crackers today, got nauseated, so I'm back to liquids.
This is one tough bug!
I was actually surprised not to see it posted with 30.06. It didn't matter to me that particular day, as I didn't have it with me. But it's nice to know in case I ever have to take dh in, I'll know I can bring it.

Went with DSW to the hospital in Fredericksburg for some bloodwork Saturday. They have the old state law sign, no 30.06. We never broke stride.

Re: A hospital that isn't posted
Remember, there are usually several entrances to a hospital and ALL entrances must display the 30.06 sign to be in compliance. If you walk through the back entrance and it is not posted, then they are in non-compliance and you have every right to carry. With the cameras these days on everything and everybody, you could certainly prove your entry point. I would not want to be the test case for this necessarily, but the law is the law....

30.06 does not say all entrances have to be posted. Not now. Not seven years ago.

Not correct. Not ALL entrances must be posted. However, if you happen to enter through a door that is not posted, you would be none the wiser. If you do enter through a posted door (not carrying, of course), and leave through an unposted door, you can't say that the posted door was out of compliance. You received effective notice when you entered through the posted door.MarshalMatt wrote:Remember, there are usually several entrances to a hospital and ALL entrances must display the 30.06 sign to be in compliance. I entered/exited through several doors at Baylor Dallas, and none that I entered/exited through were posted. Baylor Dallas = good choice for CHLers.

Re: A hospital that isn't posted
The Busy Mom has nailed it. The 51% sign must be at all entrances, but NOT the 30.06. The 30.06 doesn't even have to be at the entrance. Relying on saying you didn't see it is a risky adventure and may or may not work in court.The_Busy_Mom wrote:Not correct. Not ALL entrances must be posted. That is incorrect, it does NOT have to be posted at all entrances it must be posted in a conspicuous location readily visible to the public nothing more
