New addition to the collection

Post by timdsmith72 »

Brought this beauty home today. A Sig Sauer 1911 RCS. It's out of Sig's custom shop. They combined an Officer-sized grip frame with a Commander-sized 4.25" barrel/slide length. I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet. Probably Friday. But here are some pics!! After I run a few hundred rounds through her and am satisfied with her reliability, this will become my new carry weapon! Sorry about the picture quality. I'm not photographer. :cheers2:

I spent 900 of 'em. A little steep I reckon, but it was exactly what I was looking for and in stock. In stock counts for a lot these days. heh.

Very sharp pistola I am jealous. :cheers2:

I am sure it was unloaded for your pics, however I did notice it was cocked and UNLOCKED in the second picture. Not picking on ya, it's just one of those things that I practice and preach all the time. Be safe and enjoy that beauty. :hurry:

You're right. I had just stripped, cleaned the shipping oil off, and re-assembled her. It's been about 5 years since I regularly handled a 1911. Everything I've been shooting for the last 5 years hasn't had a safety. That's why I have barely put her down since I brought her home. Getting use to the feel again.
You're also right in that it was unloaded. In fact, I don't even HAVE any ammo for her yet.

I keep all my 1911 locked.. more to make sure the gun is secure then the ammo issue.. its just a good habbit for me... we all do things differnt. Just like you cannot clean it when the slide is locked.. when not in use.. I lock the slide.. but again... just me.

I almost bought one of these instead of my Kimber. Keep us updated on how she performs.
